descriptions of the term:

Cultural Due Diligence

Cultural Due Diligence is part of the Human Resources Due Diligence. The objective is the assessment of the compatibility of cultures of the involved companies. To derive this, a first analysis of the current cultural situations of the M&A partners is undertaken. Based on the findings of the analysis, a second step identifies transaction chances and risks and develops recomendations for the cultural integration. The spectrum of risk analysis ranges from scientifically founded survey instruments such as "Organizational Culture Inventory®" up to a more pragmatic-intuitive approach in the form of interviewing selected executives and employees on predefined subjects.
