Cultural Integration

Experts now agree that cultural integration is a key success factor within M&A. Depending on the integration strategy and level of integration of the newly established company, several forms of cultural integration can be considered:
1. One culture is adopted, usually that of the buyer;
2. Symbiosis of cultures ("Best of Both");
3. Cultural pluralism, meaning that both cultures coexist.
Our experience shows that there are three basic pillars for successful cultural integration (1) Information and communication, (2) personal contact and cooperation between employees of both companies and (3) supporting measures, which ensure long-term effectiveness and are aimed at sustainability (e.g. integrating cultural aspects in HR processes).
